Your safety

For the winter season 21/22 and summer season 2022.

YOUR SAFETY

For winter bookings: like always, we offer a free cancellation guarantee until the 01st of October.

For summer bookings we offer free cancellation until 30 days before arrival.

You can modify your booking up until 30 days before arrival. Change of travel period is not possible.

If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your home country issues a complete travel ban (for vaccinated, Covid-19 recovered and non-vaccinated persons) and forbids to enter Austria or if the borders to Austria are closed, you will get your money back.

The refund of your money will not apply if the reason for not being able to travel is that you are not vaccinated.

All other reason of cancellation has to be handled by your insurance company where you have your travel insurance.

This is valid from 7 days before departure up to the day of departure.

Covid-19

Changes in the validity of the Green Passport

Because the medical recommendations have changed, the validity of the vaccination certificates in the Green Passport will also change from February 1st. As of February 1st, 2022, the vaccination certificate for the first series of vaccinations (two vaccinations or proof of recovery + one vaccination) is only valid for 180 days (i.e. six months).

The vaccination certificate of the booster vaccination (three vaccinations or proof of recovery + two vaccinations) is still valid for 270 days (nine months).

There is an exception for persons under the age of 18. Their vaccination certificate for the first series of vaccinations will be valid for 210 days (seven months).

The 2-G rule applies everywhere

  • Upon arrival, you will need a confirmation of 2G, which is proof of vaccination or proof of having had Covid-19 infection (within 90 days) (hereinafter referred to as the "entry test"). This apply for all guests from the age of 16.
  • To enter the border to Austria you will need a 2G+ proof. You need a confirmation of vaccination, proof of having had Covid-19 infection (within 90 days) and a negative PCR test or a booster-vaccination.
  • General FFP2 mask requirement in the indoor area from 14 years of age - for guests, hosts, employees. For children 6-13 years mouth and nose protection.
  • FFP2 mask requirement for guests, especially when not sitting at the table in the restaurant.
  • Registration requirement for all guests.
  • If you cannot be vaccinated for health reasons, a PCR test that is a maximum of 72 hours old applies. Medical certificate in German or English must be brought.
  • Closing time 10 p.m. (after-hours catering and après ski must remain closed; probably until January 10) As in the past, no one may remain in the establishment after 10 p.m., i.e. all guests must leave the establishment by 09:59 p.m. at the latest.
  • No bar operation - food and beverages may only be served to guests with assigned seats (also expected until January 10).

Current: New entry rules from UK, NL, DK and NO

Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway are classified as virus variant areas. From these four countries, only persons with triple vaccination or double vaccination after vaccination with Johnson & Johnson and an additional PCR test (not older than 48 hours) can enter the country without quarantine from 25 December. The already existing regulations for children (see below) remain valid. For all other persons from the above-mentioned countries, a 10-day quarantine applies after entry.

The following measures apply to children

  • Children up to 12 years of age do not require 2G proof!
  • For children of school age in Austria (children born after the 31st of August 2006) applies:
    • From the completed 12th year of age, a 2G proof is required. For school-age children, the fully completed "Ninja Pass" is valid (also on weekends). The Ninja Pass will be considered equivalent to the 2G proof. After completion of the ninth school year, youth must also have 2G proof in order to enter 2G settings. During vacations (school-free period), children and adolescents for whom the Austrian Ninja Pass also applies can provide proof of 2G by means of a valid negative PCR test.
  • For children not attending school in Austria (children born after the 31st of August 2006) the following applies:
    • If they can consistently prove negative tests (of which at least 2 tests are PCR tests) during a calendar week, then this replaces a 2G proof. Thus, there must not be a day without a negative test result. Compulsory schooling in this sense means for nine school years, starting on September 1 following the completion of the sixth year of life.
  • You can download the Holiday-Ninja-Pass here

Mask requirement for children:

  • Children 6 and under do not have to wear a mask.
  • Children 6 to 13 years old require mouth and nose protection.
  • Children 14 years and older require an FFP2 mask.

Germany classifies Austria as a high-risk area:

After a stay in Austria, travelers returning to Germany must comply with the following measures since January 16, 2022:

  • ALL persons (regardless of age) must register online before returning to Germany: Digital Entry Registration
  • All persons 6 years of age and older need 3G proof to travel back to Germany from Austria:
    • Vaccinated
    • Proof of havning had Covid-19 infection (3 months)
    • Antigen quick test or PCR test (validity 48 hours each) be aware of quarantine regulations

Quarantine regulations:

  • No quarantine obligation for vaccinated and recovered persons:
For this, the vaccination or proof of having had Covid-19 infection must be uploaded via the entry portal before the return journey. If no 2G certificate is available, the person in question must also enter quarantine until a certificate is presented.
  • Quarantine obligation for non-vaccinated and non-recovered persons (persons without 2G proof):
Termination of quarantine possible at the earliest after five days after entry (transmission of the negative test result to the health department).
  • Automatic quarantine requirement for children under 6 years of age: Children under the age of 6 do not require proof of 3G for return travel, but must automatically enter quarantine for five days after entry from Austria.
In contrast to unvaccinated/non-vaccinated persons over 6 years of age, quarantine for those under 6 years of age ends automatically after five days. A separate free testing is not required here.

Strict rules, safe winter

Level 3 from 08.11.2021

"Der Sicheren Gastfreundschaft" team worked with the Ministry of Health to develop “winter rules” for a safe and successful season. The existing 3-step plan provides the framework:

1st level: 3-G rule
2nd level: From 7 days after the intensive care bed occupancy rate has exceeded 15%
3rd level: From 7 days after the utilization of 20% has been exceeded

Gastronomy and accommodation

Level 1: 3G proof
From level 2, antigen tests with self-implementation ("living room tests") are no longer valid as evidence.
If level 3 occurs, even “official” rapid antigen tests (such as test lanes, pharmacies) are no longer valid as proof of access.

Après-ski

During level 1, the same rules apply as for night gastronomy: access with a PCR test result, proof of vaccination or proof of recovery. An antibody detection or antigen test is not sufficient.
From level 2, the 2G rule applies: access only for vaccinated and convalescent people, no testing of any kind.

Cable cars

Level 1-3: Compulsory wearing of an FFP2 mask.
Introduction of the 3-G rule from the start of the season.

Advent and Christmas markets

Level 1: Access with 3G proof
From level 2, antigen self-tests with self-implementation ("living room tests") are no longer valid as evidence.
If level 3 occurs, even “official” rapid antigen tests (such as test lanes or pharmacies) are no longer valid as proof of access
