Wagrain is the favorite among families - also in the summer season

Wagrain is a paradise for all families, during the winter season as well as summer season. Children of all ages will find activities that suits them, and a lot of the activities are within walking distance. The nature opens the doors to a wide range of activities in the beautiful landscape. You can e.g choose between hiking, biking, an alpine coaster tour, golf or rafting.  

Hiking in the Alps

There are around 350 km. hiking trails in Wagrain on 31 different routes. The routes differ between 5-17 km. and 2-7 hours so no matter what kind of hiking trail you are looking for you will definitely be able to find the perfect one in Wagrain. Along the trails you will always be able to find a cosy and charming restaurant who serves austrian specialities. There are even hiking buses who drives you to the different places, which means that you dont need the car.

A favorite among the children is the huge adventure land on top of the Grafenberg lift. Hier you will find more than 30 different stations with playground, obstacle courses and climbing areas for the whole family. It is as well very suitable for strollers so you can easily come hier with the youngest children who needs a rest in the stroller now an then.  

Active holiday in Wagrain

Do you want to try something more fast-paced? Then we recommend that you go for a ride on a bike. A real favorite among families is the Jägersee tour. If you dont want to get too exhausted you can rent an electric bicycle. For the daring, there are several mountain bike routes of different difficulty levels. Take the lift up to the top of the mountain and ride back down again. You can rent all equipment on the spot and there are not really any requirements.

Rafting is another exiting activity, which also suits the whole family. It is an experience to paddle through the beautiful landscape, on the wild water, and feel the adrenaline pumping. The safety is high, and therefore everyone will be equipped with a wetsuit, helmet and safety vest. The risk of getting wet is however pretty high.

Another popular activity in Austria is the alpine coaster. Imagine a roller coaster on the side of a mountain. The alpine coaster Lucky Flitzer in Flachau is a real favorite for the whole family.

Combine culture and quiet moments on your summer holiday

If you want to combine the active holiday with a bit of culture you will not have to search long. Salzburg is only 1 hour away by car. The city is since 1996 on the list of UNESCO world heritage due to its historical and musical city center. Hier you will find cosy cafes, shopping, museums and beautiful buildings.
