Because of the Alpine World Cup 2013 there has been a lot of heavy investments in the fantastic ski area of Schladming and is now one of Austria's best and most complete ski areas. There are plenty of red, blue and black slopes. For those who like to go outside the slopes there are also good opportunities to visit the beautiful forest. What characterizes Schladming is an efficient lift system and really great and well-prepared slopes with a good variety.

Ski on four connected mountains

In Schladming, the ski system is connected by the four mountains Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. Here you will move smoothly and quickly between the different mountains thanks to the modern and efficient lift system that perfectly merges the slopes.

The most advanced skiing are found on Planai mountain, where you have to go to the World Cup piste at the bottom of the mountain. Each year Night Race will be held on the World Cup piste featuring over 50,000 spectators. The other three mountains also provide good and varied skiing opportunities, with Hauser Kaibling being the highest at over 2,000 meters above the sea.

You can also try out evening skiing, when piste number 33 at the Hochwurzen opens for the evening. It is a totally unique feeling to ski on a lit piste in the dark alp night and something we really recommend to everyone who visits Schladming!

Glacier skiing at Dachstein

If you really want to feel the high-alpine feeling, you should go on the bus to Dachstein, where you will find a glacier with opportunities for skiing in over 2,700 meters above the sea. Here you can soak up the beautiful view or challenge yourself in the stunning snow park, with many kickers, jumps and rails. The bus and the glacier ride are of course included in the lift pass.
